Our History

From a coffee-table debate to a group of institutions

In the winter of 1991, five young minds debated the value of education over a coffee table: how could India prepare world-class human resources when government funds alone could not build world-class institutions? The answer they arrived at, private entrepreneurship in self-financing mode, shaped everything that followed.

They did not start a college. They started a software company, Trident Softech Pvt. Ltd., and through it a corporate finishing school where graduates were trained in specialised software and went on to secure jobs in overseas markets. From that finishing school, the group grew into many sectors of organised education, and today also maintains a presence in corporate business and NGO activities.

    The idea

    Five friends start Trident Softech Pvt. Ltd., a corporate finishing school in software education.

  2. 1995

    Into organised education

    Trident’s Advanced Computer Training grows into a group entering formal education in phases.

  3. 1998

    Two MCA colleges

    MCA colleges start at Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.

  4. 2002

    Biotechnology

    The Biotechnology college is established.

  5. 2005

    Social science and engineering

    A Social Science college and a top-class Engineering college join the group.

  6. 2009

    MBA programme

    The two-year full-time MBA programme commences.

  7. 2015

    IQAC established

    The Internal Quality Assurance Cell starts functioning on 16 July 2015.
