A culture of innovative, multi-disciplinary research
A platform where researchers can establish their potential in state-of-the-art technical, industrial and social research.
- ObjectiveWhat Trident Research sets out to achieve.
- Advanced Research GroupThe independent research setup of dedicated professors, with its research groups.
- EmpowermentHow faculty are mentored and supported to do research.
- Intramural Funding (TIFR)The scheme that funds research projects, and how to apply.
Where researchers realise their potential
To provide a platform that inducts a sound culture of innovative, multi-disciplinary research in the institute, where researchers get the scope to establish their immense potential and demonstrate their capability in hosting state-of-the-art, high-end technical, industrial and social research.
- 01Inculcate an excellent research culture and provide the best research infrastructure.
- 02Serve as a platform for students and faculty to undertake solution-driven social research, strong interdisciplinary collaborations and knowledge sharing.
- 03Publish high quality research papers in standard research journals of international repute.
- 04Create quality human resources for scientific, industrial and social research.
- 05Promote industrial collaborations involving active and mutually beneficial R&D projects.
- 06Establish Trident Research as a renowned institute and a trusted name in high-end technical research.
Beyond the prescribed curriculum
The engineering curricula prescribed by universities, including BPUT, leave ample scope to add courses that address the need for solution-driven social research. That research is essential to shape vital national projects such as Smart Cities, Skill India, Digital India, Startup India and Make in India.
Such projects will come true only if students and faculty in technical institutions are empowered with the right knowledge and an inclination towards research and innovation. It is therefore of paramount importance for faculty of engineering institutions to dive into the research areas of science and technology applications.
Two primary goals
- 01Build interdisciplinary collaborations that inspire innovation among faculty as well as students.
- 02Focus on capacity building to meet global challenges of societal and industrial need, where we can achieve the greatest impact and excellence and a clear leadership position in promising new and growing areas of engineering research.
How we encourage research
Trident Research aims for a clear leadership position in new and growing areas of engineering research, through:
- IEDC activity
- Students’ technical club activities
- Trident Intramural Funded Research (TIFR) schemes
- Participation in national and international conferences
Centres of excellence in focused domains
- MEMS & Nano CenterA National MEMS Design Centre set up in 2012 with IISc, Bangalore, under the NPMASS programme.
- Data-Science CenterInterdisciplinary research in big-data analytics and cloud computing.
- IoT & WSN CenterExplorative research in software technology and wireless sensor applications.
- Energy CenterResearch in renewable energy, set up by the Department of Electrical Engineering.
- Seminars & workshopsNational seminars and workshops organised by the research hubs.
