Energy Center

Research in renewable energy, set up by the Department of Electrical Engineering.

A domain of excellence

About the centre

The Energy Center is a domain of excellence that encourages research in renewable energy. It was set up by the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The main focus is solar energy: solar photovoltaic technology (cells, panels and storage devices) and the application area of solar rooftop energy. Work is also under way on grid interaction and net metering of solar energy, with the main stress on smart grids and smart metering, supported by the Department of ETC.

Efforts are also being made to apply solar photovoltaic technology in rural areas, for agriculture and lighting.
