How we run the college
Proctorial System
A faculty mentor for every student, and a link to parents.
The system
Each faculty member looks after 20 students
Under the Proctorial system, each faculty member is responsible for 20 students. The proctor carries out academic and personal counselling at regular intervals, and parents are taken into confidence and informed of their ward’s continuous improvement.
Duties of a proctor
What a proctor does
- •Each member of the teaching staff is designated a proctor, the teacher leader of a group of students.
- •Exercises effective control and influence over the students in their charge.
- •Assists in the academic and overall development of those students.
- •Enquires into their problems and helps solve them, or brings them to the notice of the head of the institution or the parents.
- •Maintains the quarterly proctorial record and submits it on the last working day of every session.
- •Sends a quarterly progress report to parents or guardians, wherever deemed necessary.
Scope for students
What students gain
- •The programme aims at improving curricular activities, disciplined behaviour and personal development.
- •The proctor gives supportive care and advice on academic and personal problems.
- •The proctor watches the academic progress and conduct of the group, inside and outside the college, and reports to the principal and guardians.
- •The proctor acts as a teacher-guardian who helps students overcome their problems and complete their studies comfortably and successfully.
