Campus
Internet and Wi-Fi
Fast, secure connectivity across academic blocks and hostels.
At a glance
The campus network
- 1000 MbpsBandwidth over two dedicated leased lines
- 600PCs on the wired network
- 10GMultimode optical-fibre backbone
- 100%Uptime ensured by the backbone design
Wired network
From the server room to every desk
Two dedicated leased lines, one connected to the Tata Teleservices ISP, feed the campus network through a Sophos XG3100 UTM, a Cisco 1841 series router and a Cisco 2960 Catalyst switch in the server room. All computers are on the campus network and have internet access, about 600 PCs over the wired network.
The whole network runs on Cisco managed switches: Cisco 2960 Catalyst at the distribution layer and Cisco 224G4 at the access layer.
Wi-Fi
Academic blocks, hostels and open spaces
Wi-Fi covers all academic blocks, hostels and open spaces, using Ubiquiti U6-LR and Motorola AP 6511 access points indoors and Motorola AP 6532 and AP 6564 outdoors. After office hours the entire bandwidth is used by students in the hostels.

Security
Protected at every level
- •Gateway-level threat management on the Sophos UTM: IDS, IPS, antivirus and firewall.
- •Web filtering, so students visit only legitimate websites.
- •System and server-level security through K7 client/server antivirus and Microsoft antivirus.
